Aomori City, the capital of Aomori prefecture is located about 700km north of Tokyo. The Aomori City Cultural Hall is easily accessible from the airport and the train station.
Being located at the northern part of Honshu (the main island of Japan), Aomori is well known by its long folk history and its beautiful scenery throughout the year. In October, autumnal tints of yellow and gold carpet the surrounding mountains.

Rokkasho-mura, Aomori, is the first center of closed nuclear fuel cycles in Japan. Aomori also hosts the Higashidori N.P.S. of Tohoku and Tokyo Electric Power Companies, the Ohma N.P.S. of J-Power Co., and broader approach of nuclear fusion.
